Trayectoria profesional y visión personal

In this exclusive interview with Revista Casino, Carrison shares lessons from her career, reflects on the industry’s future, and explains how G2E has managed to remain the premier global meeting point for the gaming sector. She also discusses the roles of regulation, technological innovation, and the human factor in the industry’s evolution.
Professional Journey & Personal Vision
1. With more than 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, what have been the most valuable lessons you’ve learned about how a global event like G2E must continue to evolve?
Among the many things this industry has taught me is that you can never assume the following year will mimic year’s past. Technology is moving forward, new markets are emerging and our attendees have different priorities and topics they’re interested in.
When we start planning G2E, which is a cyclical strategy, we spend a lot of time talking with exhibitors, operators, regulators and attendees to understand what’s top of mind. We take pride in having insider knowledge to know what topics to anticipate and therefore build programming around it. G2E is intended to leave people with new ideas, feeling inspired, make new connections and overall have a renewed sense of passion for the global gaming industry.
2. From your perspective, what distinguishes G2E from other international gaming events, and what do you consider to be its greatest value to the global gaming community?
While G2E serves stakeholders from all areas of gaming, the focus on the legal and regulated gaming market is unique. From there, the greatest value to the community is the gathering of the entire industry in Las Vegas, under one roof. There are a lot of great gaming events of course, but G2E brings together every part of the industry from around the world, in the global focal point of the industry. People come to see new products launched and technologies as expected, but they also come to solve problems, create breakout groups, exchange solution-based ideas and build relationships. Some of the most important meetings and business acquisitions have happened between sessions or over coffee. That’s what makes G2E different, it’s where the industry comes to plan for the future of the industry.
The Evolution of G2E & Industry Trends
3. Las Vegas remains the world’s premier destination for the gaming industry. In your opinion, what continues to make both the city and G2E the global stage where the industry’s most important innovations are introduced?
Las Vegas continues to be the epicenter of gaming. It’s where trends begin, gaming solutions are developed and a place where consumers visit for the best gaming and entertainment options. Companies are eager to launch their products here because they know all the right stakeholders are in the room. You’ll find decision-makers from around the world walking the show floor, seeing new products and talking directly with exhibitors. At the same time, G2E isn’t only about advancements. It’s also about celebrating the people who make this industry what it is, and Las Vegas is home to many of them. That’s what makes G2E special. Attendees come to see innovation, but also get to celebrate the relationships that drive the industry forward.
4. Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming every segment of the gaming industry. How do you see AI influencing both the future of casinos and the evolution of G2E itself?
It’s one of the topics we hear about most right now. People are excited about the possibilities, but they’re also asking thoughtful, responsible questions. How do we use AI sensibly? How does it improve the guest experience? How does it make operations more efficient without losing the vital human element for which the industry is known? Those are exactly the kinds of conversations we have at G2E. As technology continues to evolve, we bring together experts who are leading those conversations so attendees leave with ideas they can apply to their own organizations.
5. In recent years, G2E has expanded its focus to include iGaming, sports betting, and technological innovation. What does this evolution say about the changing needs of today’s gaming market?
Looking at the industry today, it’s much broader and complex than it was a decade ago. iGaming, sports betting and new technologies have become an important part of the conversation, so it was essential for G2E to evolve alongside those changes. Our goal has always been to reflect the industry as it exists today. We want people to come to G2E and feel like we’re talking about the challenges they’re dealing with every day and to be prepared for what is coming in the future. That’s what keeps the event relevant year after year.
6. Latin America has become increasingly prominent at G2E. What opportunities do you see for the region, and what makes it particularly attractive to the global gaming industry?
We’ve seen an uptick in interest from attendees from Latin America over the last several years, and I think that’s been great for the event. The region is growing, and there’s interest in sharing ideas and learning from what’s happening in other markets. At the same time, attendees from Latin America bring valuable insights of their own. Every market has its own experiences, challenges and there’s always something to learn from one another. This year, our second annual G2E Dealer’s Championship event has even expanded to include dealers from across North America including Mexico. Our goal is for G2E to directly reflect what’s happening across the global gaming industry, and the continued growth from Latin America is an integral part of that.
Regulation & Sustainable Growth
7. From your leadership position at G2E, how have you seen the industry’s conversation around regulation and responsible gaming evolve over the past few years?
I think the conversation has become much more integrated. Years ago, responsible gaming often had its own track. Today, it comes up in almost every discussion, whether we’re talking about technology, marketing, sports betting or operations. That’s a positive shift because it’s a direct reflection of the industry’s growth. People recognize that innovation and responsible gaming go hand-in-hand. Long-term success depends on earning trust, protecting players and working with regulators. Those aren’t separate conversations anymore.
Likewise, with new innovations entering the marketplace more quickly than ever, the conversations around regulation are at the forefront in jurisdictions around the world.
8. What characteristics do today’s most successful and sustainable gaming markets have in common?
Every market is different, there’s no single formula for success. But the ones that stand out are always looking ahead. They’re open to new ideas, they’re willing to learn from other markets and they don’t lose sight of the player experience as they grow across multiple markets. The industry moves quickly, and the markets that continue to succeed are usually the ones that are willing to evolve and adapt quickly.
Looking Ahead
9. G2E recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Looking back, what would you identify as the defining moment that transformed the event into one of the gaming industry’s most influential global platforms?
It’s been a steady evolution over 25 years. Every year, the event has adapted to what the industry needed that year. Sometimes that meant expanding education, other times it meant introducing new technologies or creating a space for conversations around emerging markets including podcast booths, executive networking lounges and more. Even today, we’re finding new ways to build on that legacy, whether it’s expanding programs like the G2E Dealer Championship or introducing new topics that reflect where the industry is headed on a global scale.
10. If you had to predict the biggest conversation shaping the gaming industry five years from now, what topic do you believe will dominate the halls and conference sessions at G2E?
The industry changes quickly, but what I hope remains consistent in conversations is how the industry can recognize those who create the memorable experiences for guests. Gaming has always been a people-first industry, and I hope exhibitors, operators and attendees continue to find ways to deliver on the best guest experience possible.
