The rapid progress in vaccination is allowing more and more people to begin resuming their activities while complying with due protocols, such as, for example, traveling. According to a survey conducted by Trip Go, 64.2% of respondents in Peru have traveled within the country and, due to the pandemic, 56.3% have had a virtual travel experience.

61.6% indicated that they have traveled 1 or 2 times to domestic destinations, while 31.3% indicated having made between 3 and 4 trips. “Due to the pandemic, local tourists will prefer national destinations such as Cusco, Piura, Arequipa, and especially open spaces like the northern beaches. In addition, many are opting for virtual travel experiences, as they still want to maintain social distancing,” said Tania Vargas, CEO of Trip Go.

Regarding virtual travel, these are a good alternative for travelers who are planning a trip to be well-informed about the destination before making the in-person trip. Furthermore, it is an excellent option for seniors, who, due to health reasons or because they are taking care of themselves during the pandemic, cannot visit the place.

This type of travel has gained prominence during the last year. In the case of Trip Go, the virtual experience they offer users has been very well received, with the participation of an average of 30 companies and 6,000 people, who have virtually traveled to destinations such as Arequipa, France, Spain, Italy, or Argentina.

“This type of experience has become a good incentive option for companies to recognize the effort of their employees, as these trips allow people to clear their minds and awaken their senses,” added the executive.
