THE IDEA THAT CHANGED THE GAME

BiS SiGMA has achieved unprecedented international recognition for the region. How did the idea of creating an event that broke away from traditional models come about?

The creation of BiS — Brazilian iGaming Summit — arose from the need to fill a significant gap left when Clarion decided to stop hosting events in Brazil, such as the BGC (Brazilian Gaming Congress). The market still needed a meeting point that combined high-level content, quality networking, and real business opportunities.

In that context, we conceived an event with a different approach, using the Confex format, which integrates conference and exhibition into a more comprehensive dynamic. Growth was rapid and sustained, and the strategic alliance with SiGMA marked a turning point. From that union, BiS SiGMA Americas was born, now firmly established as the largest and most influential event in the sector in Latin America.

From the beginning, the concept seemed to have a soul of its own: a modern space with a Latin American identity and a global outlook. How did you build that personality?

I believe the secret to creating an event with such a strong and authentic identity — deeply Latin American and at the same time open to the world — was that we developed it with our Latin heart.

BiS reflects who we are: a vibrant, close-knit, dynamic region with enormous potential. I always say it’s an event made “by Latin Americans, for Latin Americans.” My partner Carlos Cardama brought his vision from the Spanish-speaking world, I brought mine from Brazil, and together we built a project with clear roots. That is precisely why BiS SiGMA became a naturally attractive space for European, Asian, and North American executives seeking to understand and participate in this market.

STRATEGY AND EXPANSION

What strategic decisions transformed a regional initiative into a must-attend event for executives, manufacturers, and operators from around the world?

The alliance with SiGMA was decisive. It allowed us to expand our international visibility and attract the industry’s key players to Brazil. From that moment on, BiS SiGMA consolidated itself as a reference point for manufacturers, operators, regulators, and technology providers worldwide.

Today, the event not only reflects the growth of the Latin American market but also acts as a bridge between regions, facilitating investment, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships.

In this context, what role does the INFLUENCER play within iGaming?

Influencers play a fundamental role in the industry, but it is essential that they act responsibly. Under no circumstances should they humiliate or demean users and players. Ethical communication, transparency, and a strong commitment to responsible gaming are crucial. The sector’s credibility is also built there.

IDENTITY AND A NEW ERA OF CONTENT

In a saturated global calendar of trade shows, how does a Latin American event position itself without losing authenticity?

The key has been to grow without losing our soul. The BiS SiGMA merger gave us global scale, but we always maintained one premise: innovation rooted in Latin American identity. We focus on high value-added content, with top-level speakers and in-depth debates tailored to the realities of Brazil and the region.

At the same time, the exhibition is a space for real connection. Concrete relationships, business opportunities, and a deeper understanding of the ecosystem and its direction are generated here. That combination of vision, applied knowledge, and closeness to the community is what sets us apart.

The atmosphere is one of the event’s hallmarks. What elements create that emotional connection between brands, audiences, and territory?

One of our greatest differentiators is high-level networking with real added value. This industry is built on long-term relationships, trust, and accumulated experience. When innovation, regulation, and market openness are added to that, opportunities arise naturally.

BiS SiGMA brings together experience and deep knowledge with new generations, new companies, and new ideas. That mix of expertise and future-oriented energy defines the event’s atmosphere and creates an authentic connection between brands, audiences, and territory.

Each edition elevates the conversation: AI, digital payments, regulation. How do you define the agenda?

Each edition is not driven by trending topics, but by listening to what truly concerns and moves the market. We are in constant dialogue with operators, regulators, lotteries, and suppliers. Based on that, we design practical content with debates that offer different perspectives on the sector’s real challenges.

Our goal is for every panel to provide concrete tools. If a session does not help an executive make better decisions after the event, it does not fulfill its purpose.

What role do you want to play in the debate on responsibility, inclusion, and ethics?

Although BiS SiGMA is a B2B event, its global reach gives us a responsibility. We want to show that this is a professional, regulated industry committed to high standards of ethics and compliance. We defend responsible gaming without ambiguity.

It is also essential to clearly distinguish ourselves from illegal operators, who damage the sector’s image and harm players. BiS SiGMA is a space to debate, explain, and firmly defend that distinction.

Looking ahead to the next decade, what role will BiS SiGMA play in the future of gaming?

We want to continue strengthening the sector as a platform for connection, innovation, and dialogue. BiS SiGMA will be a meeting point for the market, regulators, technology, and talent. We also assume a formative role: contributing to market education, the development of new leaders, and the dissemination of best practices.

At the same time, we will continue to serve as a bridge between Latin America and the rest of the world, consolidating São Paulo and Brazil as one of the major global hubs for gaming and betting.
