Spring is the ideal season to discover all the species of flowers that are grown in Tarma. A city known for its ancestral construction of terraces. On these, all kinds of vegetables and produce are grown.

However, what gives them a unique color is the enormous presence of flowers, which makes it their greatest tourist attraction. That is why it is known as the Valley of Flowers. In this area, which receives thousands of nature-loving tourists, you can appreciate flower crops such as wallflowers, baby’s breath, pom-poms, carnations, lilies, gladioli, and others. Most of these crops are grown on ancient pre-Inca terraces, so traditional irrigation and cultivation techniques are still maintained.

In spring, the Gruta de Huagapo is also a must-visit destination. One of the most mysterious natural attractions you will find in Tarma. With approximately 2000 meters deep, this cave is known as the deepest in South America. The mouth of the cave has an opening of 20 meters and houses cave paintings with various hunting scenes and everyday animals.
